• Sacramento County Bar Association Attorney Referral Service(ARS)
  Each year the ARS sends approximately 6000 referrals to more than 150 attorneys. The attorney gives the client a one-half hour consultation for a fee of $25 [this fee is considered a consultation only fee]. The attorney then forwards the fee to the ARS. If the referral then turns into a meritorious case, the attorney also forwards 15 percent of his or her fee to the Service.

• Sacramento County Bar Association Indigent Defense Panel (IDP)
  Contracts with the County of Sacramento to supply the county with private attorneys to take cases the Public Defender cannot handle due to conflict of interest or in overload situations. As the attorneys complete each case, they bill, and are paid by the County of Sacramento. IDP attorneys usually supplement their private practice with court appointed cases since the program is not designed for full time work.
